I get it. Being home all the time kinda stinks, especially for a college student that grew used to a lifestyle without their parents, or annoying younger siblings. I know that is the case for me because if I had anywhere else to escape to, I would definitely be headed there yesterday. However, I try to look at the bright side of things and how this can be used to our advantage. So, naturally, there isn’t one.
Upon further investigation of the subject, and with clearly ample amount of time to think about it, there is hardly a way to use this situation to our advantage. I mean, you could get really good at video games, I guess? But I’m not a big video game player. Being trapped inside with family members who have no issue getting on your last nerve is tough sentence. Worse than Azkaban even (I had to work in a Harry Potter reference since it’s kind of the theme of this whole thing).
I am one who likes to get outside a lot. I like to play basketball and most days I am outside shooting hoops, because it is tough for me to sit inside for an extended period of time. My dad and I try to get out a play golf, but with most everywhere closing down, it’s tough to find a place. Plus, it doesn’t help that teh weather decided to go back to winter in APRIL.
Sorry to be sounding like a debbie downer, but it’s tough to see a bright side when we can’t even see an ending to this whole thing. I guess quality time with the people you love, even if it is forced, can never be taken for granted. I think most of us can agree we would rather be back in Durant going to class rather than stuck inside all day with only your teenage sisters to talk to (gross).
I’ll end with this: even if we are forced inside, and most of it does suck. Having your mom make special masks for everyone in your family to go to Buc-ee’s to get an icee is a pretty hilarious and memorable moment.
